"Light on Light"- 1998The Ocracoke Lighthouse has been a navigational aid for mariners since the 1800's. Here, at the top of the tower, the morning sunrise hue has made the towers white surface glow with more intensity than the beacon itself. |

"Nethouse"- 1998If you follow the pattern of the marsh grass as it recedes to the nethouse you might detect the breeze as it blows from your back and flows easily toward the old shanty. There are many such "shacks" in my files waiting to be painted. |

"Lookout for the Beauty"-1990A shoal revealed by a falling tide at dawn uncovers tasty delights for the gathered birds and visual delight for this artist. The Cape Lookout lighthouse is sort of the "pivot", around which the beauty of the Cape Lookout National Seashore revolves. My title, Lookout for the Beauty, conveys the importance of helping to preserve this natural treasure of beauty. |
