One day, in late August of 1970 with one of my high school buddies as my roommate, I began an incredibly short journey through the educational halls of UNC at Chapel Hill. So when 35 years later I began to access the memories "folder" of visual" files of my Old Well images, I was compelled to paint the image you see before you.
This visual journey takes you across the patterned shadows and light cast upon the brick footing, through the white classic architecture of the domed well amidst the centuries old oak and poplar trees,to the distant pulse of Franklin Street. Along this journey I have paused along with my artistic license to dwell a bit; to paint (this little part of blue heaven) it's reality as wellas the impressions and nuance of my mind's eye. In my mind I'm going to Carolina...
