A style, uniquely and clearly identifiable as Alan Cheek, is punctuated when one views his original work. Well known for his coastal subject matter and his ability to capture light, his original paintings reveal a detailed, luminescent, three-dimensional quality known as the "Alan Cheek Style."

His compositions are usually performed with acrylic paint on either board or paper. Brush strokes aren't apparent in his work, as Alan's style dictates a detailed, photo-realistic effect. This effect is achieved by a layering of transparent and opaque acrylic applications. Alan produces original works that enchant and beckon the viewer to actually study the painting. With this technique, there are no shortcuts to the production of an original. Always with an intuitive approach, each of Alan's creations is filled with many hours of effort. The final product then takes on that unique and personal expressiveness, many know as the "Alan Cheek Style."

A few originals are still available.
